    • PROPERTY TAXES & AFFORDABLE HOUSING: We need a common sense approach to rein in runaway property taxes (nobody should be taxed off their land), and incentives to provide affordable housing (workers should be able to afford housing in the communities where they work).
    • SMALL BUSINESS, LOCAL FARMS & RANCHES: I will support local businesses and agriculture.  Locally produced goods and merchandise serve both the producer and the consumer.
    • EDUCATION: Nothing is more important than outstanding schools and teachers for promoting the quality of life in our communities.
    • ENVIRONMENT: The Montana Constitution guarantees clean air, water, a healthful environment, and "the quiet beauty of our state."  I will be a strong advocate to preserve that guarantee.
    • ACCESS TO PUBLIC LANDS: Public lands are our heritage.  I will not support trading or selling public lands in the North Flathead Valley.
    • HEALTH CARE: Health care for Montana's 175,000 uninsured costs $922 for each worker with health coverage.  I agree with Montana Senator Max Baucus that the solution lies in a multi-faceted approach of securing universal coverage, sharing the burden, controlling costs, and promoting wellness programs and preventative health care.
